Captains Welcome
It is a great honour for us to be elected as Captains for Men’s, Ladies and Junior sections of Royal Curragh Golf Club for 2025 and we look forward to welcoming all our members, their guests and visitors to our historic golf club.
Royal Curragh Golf Club, established in 1858, is the oldest Golf Club on the island of Ireland. It is situated on the beautiful and famous Curragh Plains a short distance from Newbridge, Kildare Town and Kilcullen. The Curragh is perhaps the oldest and most extensive tract of semi-natural grassland in Europe and is a designated National Monument.
We extend a warm welcome to all our members and hope you will have a great year of golf. In particular, we would like to acknowledge the work of all our members who volunteer to serve on teams, committees and sub-committees and thank them sincerely for their time and commitment. We would also like to thank all our sponsors and encourage members and visitors to support them whenever possible.
As a members’ club, we have a full diary of events which include over thirty open events including our Newbridge Silverware Open Series and a number of charity open events.
Visitors can be assured of a warm welcome at all times from our members, our professional, our office, bar and catering staff. We look forward to having the opportunity to meet you should you visit Royal Curragh Golf Club during the year.
Ger Barry, Pamela Braithwaite and Jack Clarke, Captains 2025
